Sometimes we hide our pain so others don't know
about all the suffering that's hidden below.  
The tears are dried away so no one will see  
a new mask is applied; one that's always carefree.  
Where's the rewind, I just want another try  
to fix how I feel and stop the need to cry.  

There's two minutes to go, we're down once again,  
you rally the boys for just another ten.  
They believe you now, there's no doubt in their eyes.  
We are underdogs here, but we desire the prize.  
Do you go for the tie or the outright win,
as the rain begins to fall and tickle the skin.

You hide away your fear as I do my pain,
for even the toughest of resolves will strain.
I try to understand as the seconds tick by,
but all I know now is I'm just about to die.
Help me survive here as the darkness sets in,
...for I feel I won't ever be able to win.
